. Nathalie Hodge hails from the beautiful island of St. Croix, nestled in the U.S. Virgin Islands, where she was born and shaped by its vibrant culture. As the eldest of five children and a dedicated mother to her son, Jaden, Nathalie's upbringing instilled in her a strong sense of responsibility and determination.
After graduating from St. Joseph’s High School in 1989, her pursuit of knowledge took her to Point Park University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with a minor in Accounting in 1993. Nathalie furthered her education at the Florida Institute of Technology, obtaining Master of Science degrees in Human Resources and Contract & Acquisitions Management in 2004 and 2006, respectively.
In 2014, she culminated her academic journey by completing the prestigious Certified Public Manager Program at the University of the Virgin Islands, marking a milestone in her dedication to public service excellence. Driven by her thirst for learning, Nathalie seized the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic as an opportunity to enhance her expertise, achieving certification in the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt program.
Nathalie's professional voyage has been rich and diverse. She began her career in various accounting roles before transitioning to the public sector in 1998, joining the Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs (DLCA). Over the span of twenty-five years, Nathalie’s unwavering dedication propelled her through the ranks, from a Tobacco Investigations Coordinator to her pinnacle role as Commissioner in 2024.
Throughout her tenure, Nathalie's leadership has been characterized by integrity, vision, and a profound commitment to the public good. She has steered the DLCA with a clear focus on fostering a thriving business ecosystem essential for economic prosperity. Guided by the agency's mission to uphold licensing laws, protect consumer rights, and ensure safety, Nathalie views the DLCA as a cornerstone of transformative governance in the Virgin Islands.
As Commissioner, Nathalie intends to harmonize departmental goals with strategic projects to propel the Virgin Islands towards sustainable growth. Her leadership exemplifies a dedication to service, grounded in the understanding that a thriving economy relies on both robust consumer protection and effective regulatory oversight, particularly within emerging sectors like cannabis.
