Desiree Brown serves as the Program Manager of Fiscal & Administrative Services for the VI Department of Education, a role she assumed on June 6, 2024. Previously, she advanced from Administrative Assistant to Program Manager during her eight-year tenure at the State Office of Career, Technical & Adult Education Programs (SOCTAE), where she demonstrated expertise in managing complex educational programs.
Before her public service, Desiree was Office Manager at Alvarez & Marsal, where she directed fiduciary responsibilities for the VI Department of Education, including successfully managing 100% of State and Adult Education federal funding under challenging circumstances. Her early leadership experience includes serving as Weekend Supervisor for a Resort management company, overseeing operations across five properties and managing a team of 15-20 employees, which honed her skills in team management and operational oversight.
Desiree holds associate and bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration with concentrations in Business Management and Marketing and a certification in Grant Writing.
She aims to enhance her skills in communication, conflict resolution, and decision-making through the executive leadership program, aspiring to lead dynamic fiscal teams as a future Director of a fiscal department.
