Nena L. Waguk serves as First Secretary at the Embassy of Micronesia in Washington, D.C., where he represents the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM). In this role, he supports diplomatic efforts and fosters collaboration between the FSM and international partners.
Before his current role, Nena began his public service career as a Public Information Officer for the FSM Congress with the Kosrae Delegation Office. Prior to entering public service, he gained valuable experience in the private sector, developing skills in management, communication, and workplace productivity.
Nena holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Guam (2021), where he also earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a focus on Human Resources Management (2014). He has also completed certifications from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Institute of Certified Professional Managers.
A native of Kosrae, Nena grew up with a strong religious and cultural background that inspires his commitment to community service. He actively participates in community and religious events and hopes to one day return to his home island to further support and uplift his community.
