Ben Chosmal is the Assistant Chief Clerk at the Yap State Legislature, where he oversees the daily operations of the legislature. His responsibilities include managing administrative and clerical tasks, coordinating with staff and interns under the Chief Clerk’s Office, and ensuring the smooth execution of legislative duties. Ben also assists the Speaker and Members of the Legislature by conducting research, gathering information, and preparing documents for sessions and meetings. Additionally, he serves as a liaison between the Yap State Legislature and other government entities in the state of Yap.
Prior to his current role, Ben served as the Strategic Development Plan (SDP) Coordinator for Yap at the Office of Planning and Budget. In this position, he worked closely with government departments, offices, agencies, and communities to execute nationally funded projects and programs aligned with the goals of the FSM Strategic Development Plan.
Ben holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Hawaii at Hilo and an Associate of Science Degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from the College of Micronesia-FSM National Campus. He is currently pursuing a certificate in the Trial Counselor Program from the College of Micronesia-FSM.
