Pamela V. Berkeley is a financial management professional and payroll administrator with over 20 years of progressive experience leading the payroll and financial management functions in the public and private sectors. Ms. Berkeley is currently the Director of Payroll Operations for the Virgin Islands Department of Education (VIDE) with oversight of all aspects of payroll for approximately 2,100 employees. Some of my responsibilities include – but are not limited to - directing and managing payroll processes; developing and conducting departmental trainings relative to payroll applications and procedures; collaboration with the Third-Party Fiduciary to ensure reimbursement of federal dollars to the GVI.
Prior to returning to the VIDE, Pamela served as Chief of Staff for Senator Donna Frett-Gregory; Assistant Controller for the Virgin Islands Daily News; and as a Receivables Analyst at the Virgin Islands Port Authority (VIPA).
As a results-oriented team builder and project leader, Ms. Berkeley is passionate about process improvement, documentation, and financial data reporting and analysis. Ms. Berkeley has also displayed her expertise in financial management while serving as Treasurer of the St. Thomas Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. for four years, and as a bookkeeper and Budget Committee Member for the Wesley Methodist Church for the past two years.
Ms. Berkeley is a Certified Public Manager, who holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of the Virgin Islands.
