As the Northern Marianas College's Director of External Relations, Frankie Eliptico oversees all marketing and public relations activities, event-planning, student recruitment and relations with College partners and stakeholders. Additionally, Frankie leads the College's legislative advocacy efforts, which involve drafting legislation and regularly engaging members of the executive and legislative branch to advance the institution's mission of expanding educational opportunities for residents of the CNMI. In this capacity, Frankie organized a large-scale public awareness campaign that resulted in the passage of a College-backed legislative initiative, which garnered about 10,000 "yes" votes, almost 90 percent of all votes that were cast in the last election. Prior to working at the Northern Marianas College, Frankie worked as an Island Fellow at the U.S. Department of Interior--Office of Insular Affairs, where he helped to prepare and implement a marketing plan that matched U.S. and foreign investors with investment opportunities in the U.S. affiliated islands in the Pacific. An active member in many community organizations, Frankie also currently serves as the board chair of the Mariana Islands Nature Alliance, which is dedicated to the conservation of the CNMI's precious natural resources. Currently, Frankie is also working on launching "PRIDE Marianas," a nonprofit organization whose aim is to promote understanding of LGBT issues in the community. He was also recently appointed by Governor Eloy Inos to the board of the NMI Humanities Council. Frankie earned his bachelor's degree in journalism from Seattle University and his master's degree in business administration from the Shidler College of Business--University of Hawaii at Manoa.
