Geraldine serves as an Analyst for the Office of the Public Auditor in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. Her core duties include conducting performance and compliance audits to assess the overall economy, efficiency, and effectiveness of a government program, department or agency in accordance to generally accepted government auditing standards issued by the Comptroller General of the United States. Along with her colleagues, Geraldine works hard to ensure responsibility and promote ethics and accountability at all levels of government. Geraldine is currently being trained to conduct inspections in accordance to quality standards issued by the President’s Council of Integrity and Efficiency. In late 2007, Geraldine participated in the Department of Interior’s Auditor Training Program where she played a critical role in the Audit of the Bureau of Indian Education Background Check. In line with her work, Geraldine was named a Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP) by the Institute of Internal Auditors in July 2007. Prior to her initial training as an auditor in 2006, Geraldine served as the Compliance Analyst in July 2004 where her primary responsibility was to provide general guidance to all government employees and potential elected officials on the CNMI Code of Ethics and the Campaign Disclosure Law. Geraldine attended Randolph-Macon Woman’s College (now Randolph College) in Lynchburg, Virginia where she received a BA in Economics in May 2004. After graduation, Geraldine returned to the CNMI to create positive changes in the CNMI Government. Geraldine is currently pursuing a second designation as a Certified Internal Auditor.
