Petti is an Economic Growth Specialist for the American Samoa Economic Stimulus and Recovery Office. She currently serves as a technical advisor and liaison towards other government agencies and community organizations to coordinate economic development opportunities funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). Additionally, Petti is responsible for ensuring compliance with ARRA and other federal regulations for all Recovery Act grants from the U.S. Department of Education, Health and Human Services, and Transportation. In 2008, Petti was selected as the American Samoa Intern to the office of the Honorable U.S. Senator 'Fofogaosamoa' Daniel K. Inouye in Washington, D.C. Petti's 1-year internship on Capitol Hill firmly inspired her to continue a professional career in public service. Prior to working for the great Senator of Hawaii, Petti was an Administrative Assistant to the Field Representative at the U.S. Department of Interior - Office of Insular Affairs office on American Samoa, where she also received a special award for "valuable service" to the department. Given her educational credentials and experience in working with the federal and local government, Petti uses her free time to volunteer in her community by fundraising and recruiting outstanding high school students to attend the Junior Statesmen of America summer programs at Georgetown, Stanford, and Yale University. Recently, Petti committed herself to be part of a voluntary team to write and research information in preparation for the American Samoa Constitutional Convention in June 2010. Petti has received introductory training in the areas of environmental policy, government performance based management, and financial and grants management. Petti graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor or Arts degree in Political Science and Business Administration.
