PITI-VITI Senior Director Jason Aubuchon and PITI-VITI faculty Drummond Kahn met with U.S. Department of Interior officials, including Inspector General Mark Lee Greenblatt, Chief of Staff (Acting) Kathleen Sedney, Assistant Inspector General for Investigations Matthew Elliott and Maria Tinitali, Deputy Director of Policy, Office of Insular Affairs, to discuss audit and investigative training opportunities for government audit offices.
Island audit and investigative experts will cover these topics and consider training and liaison opportunities at the Association of Pacific Islands Public Auditors’ 35th annual conference, to be held in the Republic of Palau this August.
“The PITI-VITI program is always looking for ways to improve training and to tailor it to each audit office,” said Aubuchon,
"...and discussions with our Inspector General and island colleagues can help match training content and schedules to audit offices in the region.”
Interior’s Office of Inspector General will be represented by four officials at the APIPA conference who will present on topics including audits, inspections, and investigations.
The APIPA Principals - public auditors from around the region - proposed a top-flight program for this conference,” Kahn said,
“and working with presenters like our colleagues from Interior’s Office of Inspector General, we’re planning an excellent conference.”
