What is Piti Viti What is PITI-VITI?

The Pacific and Virgin Islands Training Initiatives (PITI-VITI), is a program managed by the Graduate School USA and funded by the Department of the Interior's Office of Insular Affairs. PITI-VITI supports the insular governments of American Samoa, Guam, CNMI, FSM, Palau, the Marshall Islands, and the US Virgin Islands. Introduction to Governmental Accounting & Reporting

This 4-day (3 mornings + 1 full day) course is an introductory course for participants with little or no knowledge of governmental accounting. It provides an overview of governmental accounting systems and includes a basic introduction to accounting principles, internal controls, and documentation requirements.

Basic Grants Management

The grants course will provide basic requirements for managing grants, including the responsibilities of recipients and key tasks that must be completed during the project period.  This course will be most informative for administrative and program staff from organizations awarded a new grant.  You’ll learn how to find resources and know what is necessary to manage grants in compliance.
